Bio I’m a property developer, investor and project manager, and co-founder and project director for The Interesting Building Company, which takes structures that have outlived their original purpose and gives them a new lease of life. Our team experience spans not just converting architectural gems into attractive residences, but living in them. Our emphasis is on quality and integrity, and on keeping what was good about the original structure and adding to it. One of our current projects is the conversion of the former St. Peter’s Methodist Church in Norwich’s Golden Triangle into 20 high-quality residential units. The design will have minimal impact on the character and external appearance of the building, parts of which date back to 1894. Stained glass windows will be kept as prominent features, either in-situ or elsewhere in the building, and features hidden by recent additions will be revealed. The conversion will enable the full repair and restoration of a landmark building, so that it can remain as an asset within the local community, with a renewed outlook. People trust me to deliver. I’ve held many responsible positions: As a manager with a FTSE-100 company, I worked closely with senior executives and clients, often handling sensitive and/or private information. I’m a qualified project manager, with 28 years’ experience of large and complex projects. As a trained quality auditor, I kept part of a large engineering business on track. And I’ve set up and run several challenging, but profitable, businesses. As those who’ve worked with me would tell you, everything I’ve done, I’ve done well. And the same applies to my passion – property. I began with a ‘modest’ challenge, transforming a Grade II-listed Martello Tower. I set up a residents’ association to solve some local community issues, and later chaired the property management company, which looked after the community’s shared interests. I then renovated a property and became a professional landlord. Based on these successes, I decided to become a full-time property specialist. Yes – there are sharks in this business. But I’m not one of them: I’m known for my integrity and discretion, and the people I work with share my approach and values. If you’re an existing property professional wanting to get involved in bigger, more collaborative, projects, or keen to invest in property but wanting to share any risk, then why not partner with me? I’ve learned to invest wisely and successfully, and together we could achieve a great deal.
